Overdue update part 2.

July has been absolutely packed full of activities. See below for more proof of a good time:

Eighth stop:

Meow Wolf — An immersive, interactive art exhibit that started in Santa Fe with a few founders and expanded to 6 cities across the United States. Denver’s exhibit is called Convergence Station, a “multiversal transit system” that transports visitors to different alien worlds (I think?).

This place is a trip. I would recommend checking it out if you’re near one!

Ninth stop:

Golden Gate Canyon State Park — 12,000 acres and 35 miles of park trails located 15 minutes from our Airbnb. This is the first place that Ross and I hiked when we arrived in May, so we’re pretty fond of it.

Our hike started and ended at Panorama Point, a gorgeous overlook of the Continental Divide. After completing the Raccoon trail loop, we made a pit stop at Dude’s Fishing Hole, a small pond located at the base of a popular climbing rock called Dude's Throne.

Tenth stop:

The Flats Beer Garden — a local hangout located at the base of the Front Range halfway between Golden and Boulder. This place is usually packed in the evenings with hikers and locals looking for outdoor seating with gorgeous sunset views. We were there in the middle of the day, so we only stayed for a quick bite, a cold beverage, and a very hot game of cornhole.

There’s also a super cool chainsaw artist from Zimbabwe who shares the parking lot with the Beer Garden. Apparently, Bongo Love is considered to be one of the best chainsaw artists in the world. You can watch him compete against 11 other chainsaw masters in the Discovery channel series called “A Cut Above.”

Ross and I had a 10+ point lead until Dad & Jen somehow slaughtered us right at the end.

Final stop:

Wondervu Disc Golf Course — a heavily forested course located just down the street from Dad & Jen’s Airbnb. I’m pretty useless with a frisbee, but it’s a lot of fun to hike around in the woods chasing after rouge discs.

Alexandra and Blake introduced us to Disc Golf a couple of months ago, and now we’re hooked (and by hooked, I mean we’ve been a total of 3 times).

Naturally, I over-scheduled the heck out of Dad & Jen’s trip to Golden, but we did have a few moments of R&R here and there — just enough to see all kinds of wildlife (THE BEST PART).

We had a great time with Dad & Jen in town and can’t wait to see them again in September!

We saw this gorgeous male moose at the bottom of the driveway while we were headed out to Big Horn Stables. What an absolute treat! Top right image is Dad talking to Wilson #1-30 (a full mountain of baby chipmunks).

Our July activities don’t stop here, but you’ll hear more about the rest of our adventures in the coming weeks (between binge sessions of 90 Day Fiancé, of course).
